Carbon fiber materials have been the defacto standard in prosthetic feet for decades. However, prosthetists have told us that carbon fiber isn’t optimal due to its limited flexibility, breakage and catastrophic failure rate. Our engineering team was listening and realized that new materials and technology would provide the solution.

Meet Our Management Team...
J. Blount Swain, President
Mr. Swain has spent 20 years as the President and/or Chief Financial Officer of several medical device companies. Mr. Swain served for Closure Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: CLSR), Symbius Medical, and Biofisica. He has also served on the Boards of numerous medical device start-ups over the last decade.
Prior to this, he served as the CFO of YOUcentric, Inc. (CRM software) and The Record Bar (music retailer).
Early in his career, he served as a Senior Accountant with Price Waterhouse. Mr. Swain holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a certified public accountant.
Steve Sherman, Vice President of Sales
Steve comes to Ability with over 20 years of successful sales and sales management experience in the Orthotic and Prosthetic (O & P) industry. Throughout his career Steve has specialized in introducing new products and technologies to the O & P marketplace. He was instrumental in the introduction and widespread use of CAD/CAM technology in the field in the early 1990s with ART Inc. and M+IND.
Steve was involved in the growth and introduction of the Flex-Foot and Freedom Innovations lines of prosthetic feet. His understanding and knowledge of the O & P industry was further deepened by his experience on the patient care side of the business through his role as the Prosthetic Marketing Director for Wright & Filippis Inc.
He is a graduate of Michigan State University and is a former medic with the US Army Reserve and Michigan Army National Guard.
Richard Sainz, National Clinical Manager, MA, CP
Rich brings a wealth of experiential knowledge, clinical skills and product feedback to Ability Dynamics. As a life-long amputee and Certified Prosthetist, his insight and expansive knowledge not only in the prosthetic foot market, but of prosthetic feet in general from the perspective of the end user is an invaluable asset.
Mr. Sainz has clinical work experience at Hanger Orthotics and Prosthetics where he used state-of-the-art tools and technology to design and fabricate high-quality prosthetic limbs. Rich’s philosophy has always been to educate and empower patients and provide them with the absolute best products available in the market, period.
Mr. Sainz obtained his BA and MA in Social Services and Rehabilitation from the University of Arizona and his prosthetic education and certification from The Newington Program in Hartford, CT, an affiliate of the University of Connecticut.
Jim Edwards, Chief Financial Officer
Jim Edwards brings over 18 years of progressive management experience. His professional background has consisted of facilitating the development of process improvements, expense reduction and growth initiatives to drive the bottom line. In his capacity he has aided companies working with Private Equity firms and completing necessary CIM data compilation.
Before joining Ability Dynamics, LLC., Jim worked for a diverse range of organizations, including Legal Services, Construction, Software Development, Franchising, and Manufacturing and Distribution. Jim feels the diversity in being involved in various workplaces has brought an experience and insight that helps in building a broader business understanding and vision for management and leadership in our changing economic times.
Jim holds a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters in Business. Passionate about mentoring and working with youth, Jim has become involved in the community and sits on DeVry University’s Industrial Advisory Council, member of the development team that rewrote the Accounting curriculum for Arizona high schools, member of Symposium panel for collegiate business coaching, and has participated as a Regional and State judge for Future Business Leaders of America.
Gene Parker, Director of Process Engineering
Gene Parker comes from an aircraft and engineering/manufacturing background. In his youth, he obtained private pilot and aircraft mechanic licenses. This funded his university education and he graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Math. This formal education, combined with practical experience, allowed him to work for more than 20 years designing and manufacturing military and civilian aircraft.
Gene combines his knowledge and experience with materials, processes, design, testing and manufacturing to make RUSH™ Foot products and a better mobility experience for amputees.
Holly Sanger, Director of Marketing
Holly is a marketing leader bringing over 20 years of experience and creativity to the Ability Dynamics team. She has worked with everything from Fortune 500 companies to digital start-ups which provides her with a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to build a strong brand.
Her expertise in the areas of demographic targeting, digital marketing techniques and building brand awareness is vital to the success of Ability Dynamics and the RUSH™ product line. Her objective is to make RUSH™ Foot a household name in the prosthetic world.
Ms. Sanger holds a BA in Marketing from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Laticia “LT” Ibeere, Director of Operations
LT brings 20+ years of accounting experience to the Ability Dynamics team. She graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU, with a B.A. in Communications and has worked for various companies within different industries; ranging from small to Fortune 500.
She was drawn to Ability Dynamics, because she knew she would be able to be a part of a dynamic and growing company that touches people’s lives daily. She stated that “there is nothing more rewarding then seeing the impact that is made on someone’s life by being part of a company that custom creates prosthetic feet that are ‘not another carbon copy’ and are client specific. ”
