To be completely honest, the first thing I felt emotionally, when taking my first steps wearing the Rush foot was, anger. Angry because I had been told that what I was wearing before was one of the best that the prosthetic world had to offer. Angry because I was told that I was just going to have to give up what I was doing for work because it was too demanding of a lifestyle for an amputee. But how quickly my emotions changed.

I knew that there had to be something better out there. Something that didn’t feel like a prosthesis. Something that felt real. Something that would allow me to live life day to day without the concern for what my attachment could or could not handle. My feelings of anger were quickly replaced with feelings of optimism and exhilaration for the future. Not just of my own future but for the future of other amputees around world. For so long carbon fiber has been the go to material for prosthetics. The only problem is that the only place that I was going to was the doctor, for repairs. I couldn’t be happier with the lifestyle that I’m now able to live now that I’m wearing the Rush foot. If you’re reading this and you’re an amputee, do not let your doctor try tell you what makes you happy. You’re going to be happy with what makes you happy. Tell them you want to try out this foot! Tell them that you want to try something different. Tell them that it’s your life, and that you want a better one!
